East Peoria competes Monday and Tuesday in the Don Flavin DeKalb Dual Team Invitational.

Last year, the Raiders were fourth in the orange division after beating Mascoutah and losing to Naperville North and Glen Ellyn Glenbard West.

East Peoria also beat Kankakee McNamara in a dual between defeats to Mt. Prospect Prospect and Elmhurst York.

In last week’s Illinois Matmen Class 2A rankings, four Raiders were listed in the top 15 in their weight classes.

Alec Gonzalez was the No. 2-rated 103 wrestler, while Cody Largent is 12th in 119.

In 140, East Peoria’s Lidell Wright continues to receive recognition in the No. 5 spot.

Nate Joseph has emerged as the No. 2-ranked grappler in 215.

The Raiders fell from No. 17 to honorable mention in the team rankings.

East Peoria begins the new year Jan. 8 with a conference contest against Morton (1-2).

The home dual with the Potters is the final one in the league prior to the Jan. 31 M-I tournament.
