The defending Mid-Illini Conference champion Redbirds outscored the Raiders 17-4 in the second period on the way to a 60-50 victory.

East Peoria (4-4, 1-3) produced balanced scoring, but Metamora handed the hosts their fourth loss in five games behind Lauren Link’s 22 points.

The Raiders were paced by Emilee Brown’s 12 points, all of which came from the three-point arc.

Carrie Myers and Erica Harper also reached double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Sydney Marshall had eight points for East Peoria, while Kelsey Shoemake collected seven.

Eight of the Raiders’ 18 field goals were worth three points.

East Peoria has a busy month lined up in January, with the first of 10 games Saturday in Chillicothe against Illinois Valley Central.
