East Peoria- Edward Joseph Corbett, 94 of East Peoria, died at 11:36 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at his home.
Born on April 28, 1918, in Detroit, Mich., to Oliver and Josephine Ebert Corbett, he married Sylvia von Meeteren on July 3, 1954, in Chicago.
Also surviving are three sons and three daughters, Joanne Corbett (Sharon Aycock) of East Peoria, Jim Corbett of East Peoria, Judy (Dave) Sharp of Chillicothe, Joe (Cheri) Corbett of Casper, Wyo., Jerry Corbett of East Peoria and Jan Corbett of East Peoria; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son John Corbett on Feb. 8, 2012, and by his brother and three sisters.
He served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of Grandview Mobile Home Park in East Peoria.
Ed has gifted his body to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois. A Memorial Mass will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria. The Rev. Kenneth Marchulones will officiate. Visitation will take place at the church on Tuesday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of Mass. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory of East Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Monica Catholic Church or OSF Hospice.
