East Peoria – Marvalee B. Cunningham, 82, of East Peoria, died at 2:23 a.m. on Sunday Nov. 4, 2012, at her residence.
Born June 12, 1930, in Sedalia, Mo., to Orvis P. and Blanche A. Bain Wilcox, she married Gerald Cunningham Dec. 17, 1945, in Kansa City, Mo.
He survives. Also surviving are their two daughters: Sherry (Richard Vosberg) Becker of Peoria and Susan (Gregory) Derry of Canton, three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Orvis Wilcox III of Topeka, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one great-grandson, Ryan Petefish.
Early in life she worked as a secretary at Peoria Richwoods High Schoool. She later owned and operated Pauline’s Dress Shop, a boutique in East Peoria. For several years following, she was a realtor for Hovind Realty and later a travel agent for World Wide Travel in Canton. She and her husband owned and operated several businesses together, including Wee-Ma-Tuk Country Club in Canton and East Peoria Autobody.
She was a member of Bethel Memorial United Church of Christ in Creve Ceour, and was active in the Peoria Woman’s Golf League.
There will be a memorial service for Marvalee at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. The Rev. Paul Isom will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded.
