ARCHDALE, N.C. — Mariam Ann Delk, 88, of Archdale, N.C., passed away Nov. 28, 2012, at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, Hinsdale, Ill. She was born in Pontiac. Ill., to Mr. Scott Robbins and Elta Clark Robbins on June, 1, 1924. She moved to NC in 1976 when she married Mitchell Delk. He died Feb. 20, 2000. She is survived by one son, Dennis McClelland (Karen) of East Peoria, Ill. She is also survived by an ex daughter-in-law, Penny McClelland Greenwood, six grandchildren, Elizabeth McClelland Greenwood, Andrew McClelland Greenwood, Anna Greenwood, Hamilton Greenwood, Benjamin Greenwood and Rachel Greenwood; and five great-grandsons, Evan, JT, Alec, Joaquin and Mateo. She moved back to Illinois in 2011 to be cared for by Penny and family. She was a circuit clerk in Pontiac, and after moving to North Carolina, was a co-owner of J & D Commercial Refrigeration. She loved to travel domestic and internationally. She is a former member of Piney Grove Church in Jackson Creek, and then Thomasville Assembly of God in Thomasville, N.C. She was a Sunday school teacher and involved in Women’s Ministry. While homebound she was ministered to by Pastor Billy Myers of Archdale Assembly of God. Cumby Funeral Service in Archdale will arrange for her to be interred beside her beloved husband Mitchell at Piney Grove Church Cemetery in Jackson Creek, N.C. Pastor Billy Myers will officiate.
