Eureka College sophomore forward Kelsey Shoemake was chosen as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Shoemake scored 39 points and pulled down 17 rebounds Nov. 15 to lead the Red Devils to a season-opening 112-83 victory over Knox.
Her 39-point effort marked the third-highest individual point total in Eureka history and helped the Red Devils set a new program record for points scored in a road game.
She is a 2011 East Peoria Community High School graduate.
Shoemake, who averaged 7.6 minutes over 15 reserve appearances last season after joining the team at semester break, also pulled down 17 rebounds for her first career double-double.
She was 16-for-20 from the field, 7-for-7 from the free-throw line, picked up two steals and blocked a shot.
For the season, Shoemake is averaging 28.5 points and 15.5 rebounds per game while shooting .786 from the floor.
While a Raider, Shoemake twice was selected first-team all-Mid-Illini Conference.
