Bill Solomon, a 1976 East Peoria Community High School graduate, will be inducted into the EPCHS Athletics Booster Club Hall of Fame Jan. 19.
Solomon was first-team all-state for the Raiders in football as a quarterback and linebacker.
As a senior, he was named one of the 100 best linebackers in the country.
Solomon earned a scholarship to the University of Colorado, where he became the starting QB.
With a year of eligibility left, Solomon transferred to Iowa State University and pitched for the Cyclones’ baseball team before getting drafted by the San Diego Padres.
In his sophomore year at East Peoria, Solomon was a member of the Raiders’ 1974 state runner-up baseball squad and was selected to the state final all-tournament team.
The induction ceremony will take place before the varsity boys basketball game vs. Morton, which has a scheduled tip-off of 6:30 p.m.
