EAST PEORIA – Earl W. Kingsland, 80 of East Peoria, died at 9:37 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Born May 30, 1932, in Sedalia, Mo., to Floyd and Hilda Wathon Kingsland, he married Josephine Grace Ott on March 15, 1953, in Groveland. She preceded him in death Nov. 5, 2012. Surviving are four sons, Phillip Kingsland of East Peoria, the Rev. Curtis Kingsland of Dayton, Md., Tim Kingsland of Hobart, Ind. and Mark Kingsland of Calif.; eight grandchildren; and one brother, Arthur Kingsland of Hanna City. He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine, a son Daniel Kingsland and an infant daughter. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a former school bus driver for East Peoria School Dist # 309 and Peoria Public Schools Dist #150. He served the citizens of East Peoria on the East Peoria Fire Department for 28 years retiring as Lieutenant in 1993. He also taught Fire Science at ICC for a short time. Funeral Services will take place at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. His son, the Rev. Curtis Kingsland will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Bible Church Cemetery in Groveland with Military Honors rendered by the United States Navy Honor Guard and Tazewell Military Rites Team. Visitation will take place on Tuesday at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the East Peoria Fire Department.
