EAST PEORIA – Janet Faye Binegar, 71, died at 11:55 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at her residence. Born Aug. 12, 1941, in Canton, to Clyde and Helen Woodard Omer, she married William L. Binegar Sr. Aug. 15, 1959, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 2003, in Germantown Hills. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Christopher Gene Binegar in 1978. Surviving are two sons, William L. Binegar II of Peoria, James (Dena) Binegar of East Peoria; two daughters, Betsy (Scott) Koch of East Peoria and Karen (Joseph) Chasteen of Pekin; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one twin brother, Billie Raye (Sheila) Omer of Havana; and one sister, Suzy Ethel Vennero of Bartonville. She worked for Hershel Manufacturing in East Peoria. She later worked for the Chicago Tribune in the Accounts Payable and Administrative Department and also for Mr. Donut in Peoria. She was a long time volunteer at Washington Christian Village. She was a member of Highview Christian Church where she was active in the greeter ministry and woman's Bible study. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Highview Christian Church in Washington. The Rev. Jim Gorby will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington and one half hour prior to the service at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Highview Christian Church or Illinois Cancer Care.
