EAST PEORIA – Frances R. Wiegand, 95, of East Peoria, died at 4:23 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Born in Archer, Neb., June 7, 1917, to Ernest Nathan and Dorothy Frances Farnham Kiser, she married John Henry Wiegand May 25, 1940, in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death Dec. 14, 1991, in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, one sister and one brother. She is survived by three sons: Donald (Bettijean) Wiegand and Jim N. Wiegand, both of East Peoria and Jack (Paula) Wiegand of Deer Creek; one step-brother, Kurt Wallin of Hyde Park, Mass.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was a graduate of Methodist College of Nursing in Peoria and worked as a nurse at both Methodist Medical Center and Washington Hospital. Later, she and her husband owned and operated Wiegand Concrete Products in East Peoria where she served as executive secretary and treasurer. She was a longtime member of Sunnyland Christian Church where she spent much time volunteering, and a former member of American Business Woman’s Association in Peoria. Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria. The Rev. Evan Williams will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery.
