Nicole Danielson, of Peoria, and her son, Emerson Standing Yellow Horse, 6 months, sing and dance to the drums Saturday at the first ever Mother Earth Healing Day.

Hosted by Native American Fellowship Dayspring Church’s Turtle Lodge Community, the event included a variety of speakers and traditional ceremonies to honor Mother Earth.

“The drums are his favorite part,” said Danielson, a church member, while joining the dozens who circled around the drum.
