A city beautification project will close downtown intersections along Court Street on Sunday nights and Monday mornings over the next several weeks.

The project will bring brick facade crosswalks to intersections from Sixth Street west to Second Street, beginning with Sixth, said city Streets Department Supervisor Bob Shaw.

Each week beginning Sunday, two intersections will be closed to traffic from 7 p.m. Sunday to 6:30 a.m. Monday. Weather permitting, the project will take three weeks, Shaw said.

The project will focus on Sixth and Fifth streets the week of July 16, Fourth and Capital streets the week of July 23 and Third and Second streets the week of July 23.
