Washington Mayor Gary Manier was in a Peoria hospital Wednesday morning after he collapsed during a fundraiser the previous night, a report stated.

Manier was attending an event in Peoria that featured St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Matheny and former major-league baseball player Jim Thome, a Limestone High School graduate, according to WEEK-TV (25).

Manier, 63, was transported to OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center. He was reported in good condition Wednesday morning, according to OSF spokeswoman Stacy Campbell.

The mayor's wife, Lada Manier, told Nick in the Morning her husband was subject to medical tests overnight and was hoping to be released sometime Wednesday.

The fundraiser at Brewers Distributing was on behalf of the Walter F. Jacob Foundation. Manier is a noted, major Cardinals fan.
