PEORIA — A new version of the large gaming center at Landmark Recreation Center is having its grand opening this weekend.

Last fall, Landmark Cinemas partnered with a business out of Indiana called eBash to convert one of its theater rooms into a gaming center. Now, Landmark owns the facility along with Brandon Pence, who will also be the manager, and have re-named it the LANmark eSports and Video Game Center.

The center will be a hub for eSports and features 33 PC gaming stations, 16 XBOX One consoles, 24 PS4 stations and a Nintendo 64 with many classic games. The big screen has also been preserved to display Twitch streams or movies. The new center also features couches for more social gaming with multiple players.

Daily hours for the center will run from noon to midnight, but the grand opening on Saturday will be a more marathon affair. Opening at noon, the center will remain open until the last person decides to leave, whether that's midnight or 5 a.m. the next day. The grand opening will also host tournaments starting at 3 p.m. for games such as "Fornite," "Black Ops 3," "Super Smash Bros." and "Halo 5."

A full day pass costs $10 but hourly rates are also available. Unused hours can also be rolled over to the next visit.
