PEORIA — The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that a public meeting about the proposed improvements to the Murray Baker Bridge will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at the Gateway Building, 200 NE Water St.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide information and receive comments about the proposed improvements to the bridge. Project exhibits, aerial photographs and reports will be available for review, and IDOT staff members will be available to answer questions.

Proposed improvements include:

The Murray Baker Bridge is tentatively scheduled to close during the 2020 construction season to reduce construction time, decrease construction cost and separate traffic from the work area for the safety of motorists and workers.
