Book to film
The Book Was First movie series will have a free showing of “Eat Pray Love,” based on the book "Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia" by Elizabeth Gilbert, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Peoria Public Library’s McClure Branch, 315 W. McClure Ave.
Sign and sing
Chillicothe Public Library's "Sign and Sing Story Time" will be at 10:30 a.m. at the library, 430 N. Bradley Ave., Chillicothe. Abbey Cook of Communication Junction will present the program, designed for children 5 and younger. It's free.
Tom & Chris will present a free Brown Bag It concert from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Peoria County Courthouse Plaza in Downtown Peoria.
Fun and games
An afternoon of euchre, board games and mahjong will begin at 12:30 p.m. at Humana, 2601 W. Lake Ave., Peoria.
Cooking with fresh herbs
Chef Bill More will present a demonstration on how to cook with fresh herbs at 6 p.m. at the Pekin Public Library, 301 S. Fourth St., Pekin. The program will feature a variety of recipes using herbs from the library garden. Register for this free program at www.pekinpubliclibrary.org.
The Sci-Fi & Fantasy Book Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. to discuss "United States of Japan" by Peter Tieryas Liu at the Peoria Public Library's Lakeview Branch, 1137 W. Lake Ave.
Mystery book club
The An Hour to Kill Book Club will discuss "Sharp Objects" by Gillian Flynn from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Dunlap Public Library, 302 S. First St., Dunlap.
The Peoria Chiefs will take on the Clinton LumberKings at 7 p.m. at Dozer Park. It's a Half Price Monday with $6.50 dugout seats, $5.50 field box seats and $4 lawn seats. It's also Movie Monday, featuring special games, music and clips from "Ghostbusters."
