PEORIA, IL—Hult Center for Healthy Living and the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (SAP) are providing a list of drug drop-off sites as part of National Drug Take Back Day, Saturday, October 27, 2018.
Unused medications and used sharps can be dropped off at the following locations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.:
Peoria Heights Police Department
Peoria Police Department
Peoria County Jail
Bartonville Police Department
Chillicothe Police Department
The Bartonville location will also be distributing and providing education on the use of Narcan, a medication which reverses opioid overdose in an emergency situation.
The Hult Center and SAP want to make sure the community has the opportunity to dispense of their unused medications properly to prevent use by children in the home. Unused medications should never be flushed or thrown in the trash. Disposing of medications in this way can lead to environmental effects, accidental poisoning and/or drug abuse.
If you have any questions regarding Drug Take Back Day, please contact Amanda at the Hult Center for Healthy Living at 692-6650.
