Police said they found child porn videos featuring children as young as 6 months on a Creve Coeur man’s cellphone.

Dale Markham, 60, has remained in Tazewell County’s jail on $150,000 bond since his arrest Nov. 15 on four charges of possessing child pornography, each punishable by up to seven years in prison. He’s next due in court on Dec. 6.

Markham, of 115 N. Stewart St., was arrested after an investigation by a county Sheriff’s Department detective assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The probe was based on information from the Illinois Attorney General’s Office and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a prosecutor’s court affidavit stated.

It determined that pornography uploaded to a certain website had come from an account that originated in Tazewell County. Further investigation revealed Markham as the account owner, the affidavit stated.

Armed with a search warrant, the detective located Markham, who admitted he had possessed and shared child porn on the website and permitted the search of his phone. It contained four videos of girls being sexually penetrated. The victims’ ages were estimated at between 6 months to 5 years old, the affidavit stated.

Markham has no prior felony record in Tazewell.
