On Feb. 8, 2010, a vote of no-confidence against a current member of the East Peoria High School administration was taken by 65 EPCHS teachers, with a resulting 64-1 decision against that administrator.
These teachers are now concerned about the lack of board and administration action with regard to this vote, especially in light of looming contract renewals slated to take place Monday. Customarily, all teacher and administration staff contracts are for a vote of renewal at March board of education meetings.
Since the vote of no-confidence took place in February, teachers have attempted to work with the administration and board to rectify the hostile work environment, which brought about the no-confidence vote, but no action or remedy has been forthcoming from either the administration or the board of education.
