An East Peoria man was charged Tuesday with a felony in 10th Judicial Circuit Court for allegedly hitting a woman.
The alleged victim of the domestic battery went to the East Peoria Police Department on June 16 with her nose bleeding, scratches on her cheeks and a lump on her forehead, according to court records.
The woman told officers that she and Lopez R. Robinson, 28, got into an argument at a home on Sanford Street in East Peoria. The argument escalated and Robinson allegedly struck the woman in the face several times and tried to choke her, records said.
Police officers located Robinson Saturday and arrested him for domestic battery, a Class 4 felony. His bond is $5,000.
