East Peoria police continue to investigate the cause of a fatal motorcycle accident June 26.
Both the 16-year-old driver and passenger in the Ford Mustang live in Washington, according to police.
The 16-year-old female was driving the vehicle when it collided with a motorcycle at the intersection of East Washington Street and Campus Avenue shortly after 11:30 p.m., according to the East Peoria Police Department.
The impact forced Angela King, 43, and her husband Dale King, 44, both of 126 Ravine St., off their motorcycle.
Angela King, 43, the passenger of the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, and Dale King, the driver, was transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, according to police.
On Monday, Dale King condition improved from serious to fair at the hospital, according to Shelli Dankoff, spokesperson of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
The 16-year-old driver and passenger were not injured.
The 16-year-old female was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license, driving after 11 p.m., and improper lane usage.
Additional details of the accident will not be available until police wrap up the investigation.
