A record number of ducks raced in the 22nd Annual Duck Race to benefit The Center for Prevention of Abuse presented by Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino.
Taking place outside of Old Chicago on the riverfront Sunday, the event raised approximately $125,000 to put an end to abuse.
Duck Race: By the Numbers
20,000 — The number of ducks that competed in the 22nd annual Duck Race. That’s 3,000 more than last year, according to event organizers.
50 — The distance in yards it took for the ducks to travel down the river outside of Old Chicago Sunday afternoon.
$5,000 — The top prize was $5,000 in cash from South Side Bank. The winner was Jeanne Buysee from Germantown Hills.
$125,000 — The estimated amount this year’s event raised for the Center for Prevention of Abuse.
