Francis Lyle Volz, 85, of Ocala, Fla., formerly of East Peoria, died, Friday, Jun. 4, 2010, at his home.
Born July 3, 1924, in Metamora to Frank and Louise (Harris) Volz, he married Iva Henderson on June 15, 1946, in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Gary (Diana) Volz of Shakopee, Minn.; two daughters, Susan (Robert) Hall of Peoria and Nancy (Harry) Hobson of Sarasota, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter
He was preceded in death by one sister, one brother and one half-brother.
He had been a district manager for Phillips Petroleum Co. in Evansville, Ind., and Louisville, Ky., for 37 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a 50 year member of Hilton Lodge No. 1143 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons in East Peoria.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
