PEORIA – Elwood L. Bradley, 94, of Peoria, passed away at 11:16 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at his home with his family by his side.

He was born Feb. 8, 1916, in Lilly to Roy and Ethel Hogan Bradley. He married Lucille T. Schuster in Peoria on July 27, 1940. She preceded him in death on April 10, 2006.

He was also preceded by two brothers, Earl Hunt and Robert Bradley.

Surviving are two sisters, Helen Mottler and Marjorie Reliford; five nephews, Richard (Nancy) Mitchell, William (Pat) Reliford, Elwood (Becky) Reliford, Terry (Karen) Meidroth and Tim (Jan) Meidroth; and two nieces, Barbara Carrington and Linda (Paul) Isom.

Elwood worked as a machinist at Caterpillar Inc., retiring in 1978. He was a U.S. Marine Corps World War II veteran and lifetime member of the following: UAW Local 974, Greater Peoria AMVETS Post 64, U.S. Marines 5th Division Association, East Peoria VFW Post 2078,  American
Legion Post 979 in Bartonville and the Navy/Marines Club in Peoria Heights. 

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in East Peoria.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria with military honors.
