Glen R. Newbury Sr., 74, formerly of Washington and East Peoria, died at 12:10 p.m. April 23, 2010, at his home in Yuma, Ariz.
Born Sept. 28, 1935, in Sesser to James H. Newbury and Flossie D. (French) Newbury, he married Sue A. Cornwell June 22, 1958. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Glen R. (Sandra Needham) Newbury and Patrick J. (Cathy Dotson) Newbury; one brother, James (Doris) Newbury of Blueford; one sister, Elsie (Roy) Martin of Aurora; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five sisters.
He was employed by Caterpillar Inc. for 40 years before retiring.
Newbury was a U.S. Army veteran stationed in Fort Sam in Houston and at Fort Riley in Kansas.
Cremation rites were accorded. Services will be at a later date.
