Roy G. Petri, 81, of East Peoria, died at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born July 22, 1928, in East Peoria to William and Sarah Hall Petri, he married June Lindgren May 7, 1949, in East Peoria. She preceded him in death Jan. 31, 2006, in East Peoria.
Surviving are three daughters, Terry J. (Dennis L.) Paluska of East Peoria, Julia K. Delzell of Pekin, and Kimberly A. (Brice) Bain of East Peoria; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Edward (Jean) Petri of East Moline.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Russell Petri; an infant son, Howard Joseph Petri; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He worked as an electrician for TP & W Railroad for 33 ½ years before his retirement in 1987.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. The Rev. Karen Merrick will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at the funeral home in East Peoria. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
