Eleanor J. McCabe, 84, of East Peoria, died at 2:10 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2010, at her residence.
Born Dec. 1, 1925, to John and Eleanor Waltz Bione in Herrin, she married John McCabe Jan. 20 1947, in Herrin. He survives.

Surviving are her nine children, Raymond (Eileen) McCabe of Peoria, Angela (Roger) Pohl of  York, S.C., Phyllis (Ken) Minton of Washington, Marilyn (Jeffery) Shepperd of La Verne, Calif., Daniel (Theresa) McCabe of Marquette Heights, Ron McCabe of Rialto, Calif., Dolores Recar of Morton, Elaine (Paul) Hunt of Washington and Aileen (Mark) Hamann of East Peoria; two brothers, John Bione of Thompsonville, and Gary Bione of Alexandria, Va.; one sister, Linda (Bill) Walker of Cherryville, N.C.; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister Ann McCollum and two infant daughters.

Services were Thursday at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in East Peoria. The Rev. Ken Marchulones officiated.  Visitation was May 26 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria, where a prayer service also took place. An additional visitation took place a half hour prior to services Thursday. Burial was in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton.

Memorials may be made to St. Monica’s Ladies Guild.
