MORTON — Wilbur A. Moore, 95, of 28051 Robison Road, Morton, died at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.

He was born July 8, 1914, in Morton to Edward and Edith (Keister) Moore.

He married Grace Warner on March 19, 1936, in Allentown. She preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2008.

He also was preceded in death by one grandson; his daughter-in-law, Joyce Moore; one brother and one sister.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Moore and Wesley (Patricia) Moore, both of Morton; one daughter, Joyce (Eber) Pennington of East Peoria; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Marge Moore of Morton.

Wilbur farmed in the Morton area all of his life.

In 1962, he founded the Wilmor Sportsman’s Club in rural Morton. He was a member of the Tazewell County Farm Bureau and a charter member of the Kennel Lake Sportsman’s Club in Morton.

He was a former member of the Mackinaw Christian Church.

Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home in Morton, with the Rev. Henry Miller officiating. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home. Burial was in Buckeye Cemetery in Morton.

Memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
