March is here … spring is just around the corner! It was a tough winter, but we’re gearing up for a lot of fun events at the library. Our story hours are still going on this month.

The children’s staff is busily preparing for the summer reading program. This year’s theme is Scare Up a Good Book. The program begins June 1 and runs the entire months of June and July.

Don’t worry … the kids don’t get to have all the fun. There’s an adult and teen program as well.

“The Diary of a Wimpy Kid” movie came out March 19. This popular children’s book series follows the life of Greg Heffey. The movie is based on his diary, and, as you might expect, a young boy’s diary is full of illustrations and observations about the world around him.

To celebrate this event, we’re having a program 2 p.m. March 29 for students in grades third through eighth. It’s spring break that week, and this will be a great chance to get into the library.

Since it is spring, it’s time to think about gardening. Our staff will be more than happy to help you find the perfect gardening books that you will need for planning your perfect garden.

In addition to a wide collection of books, we also subscribe to magazines like Better Homes & Gardens and Organic Gardening that are also available for check out.

Finally, the library will be closed April 4.
