Adam Peterson won two individual events and was a member of two winning relay teams, but the Pekin co-op boys swimming and diving team lost 105-80 Thursday to visiting Peoria Richwoods.
Peterson, a Western Illinois recruit, won the 50 freestyle (:22.02) and 100 freestyle (:52.95).
He joined with Oliver Garrett, Alex Kula and Jack Marlatt to win the 200 medley relay (1:47.26) and with Marlatt, Sam Dunn and Kula to win the 200 freestyle relay (1:32.57).
Pekin's 200 medley relay team touched out the second-place Richwoods team (1:47.69).
Peterson swam the maximum four events.
"Good competition," was how Pekin coach Christine Dunn described the meet. "Both teams have strong swimmers and team depth."
Pekin went 1-2 in the 100 butterfly. Marlatt won (:57.56) and Kula was second (:57.70), just .14 seconds behind his teammate.
The Dragons were 2-3-4 in the 100 backstroke with Brady Hild (1:06.70), Garrett (1:07.96) and Dunn (1:12.49).
Kula was second in the 200 freestyle (1:54.14) and Pekin's Jayson Presley was second in diving (145.45 points).
Marlatt was third in the 50 freestyle (:22.60). Pekin's Dillon Marlatt was third in the 100 breaststroke (1:19.88) and Hunter Hawkins was third in the 200 IM (2:29.96).
The Dragons had a pair of 4-5 finishes in the 100 freestyle and 500 freestyle.
Tyler Cummins (:56.24) and Hild (:59.93) swam in the 100 freestyle and Matthew Peterson (6:11.83) and Dakota Schultz (6:26.12) swam in the 500 freestyle.

FIFTH IN IOWA: With Adam Peterson leading the way, Pekin finished fifth of 11 teams Jan. 13 in the 43rd annual Greyhound Invitational in Burlington, Iowa.
Peterson won the 50 freestyle (:22.21), was third in the 100 freestyle (:50.59), and was on the Dragons' second-place 200 freestyle relay team (1:30.22) and fourth-place 200 medley relay team (1:45.11).
Jack Marlatt, Cummins, Kula and Adam Peterson made up the 200 freestyle relay team and Jack Marlatt, Adam Peterson, Kula and Cummins were on the 200 medley relay team.
Kula was third in the 200 freestyle (1:52.91).
Jack Marlatt and Kula were sixth (:57.04) and eighth (:57.50) in the 100 butterfly, and Jack Marlatt was sixth (:58.69) in the 100 backstroke.
JV MEET: Pekin placed fourth of six teams in the 18th annual Rock Island JV Invitational on Jan. 15.
The Dragons' Kaden Hagen and Presley were third (2:26.15) and fourth (2:28.70) in the 200 freestyle, and Ronnie Johnson (1:10.69), Isaac Watson (1:11.62) and Presley (1:17.61) were fourth through sixth in the 100 backstroke.
Johnson was third in the 100 freestyle (:58.54), Watson was fifth in the 200 IM (2:35.28) and Pekin's Traeton Mitchell was fifth in the 500 freestyle (6:50.54).
The Dragons' best showing in a relay was the 200 freestyle. Presley, Matthew Peterson, Brock Armentrout and Ethan Gaudet were fifth (1:59.01).
