Outlook: After going undefeated against Mid-Illini opponents for the fourth straight year, Dunlap enters the tournament looking for its third straight outright M-I title. Metamora, which was edged by Dunlap for the M-I title by 2.5 points last season, has lost only once this season — to the Eagles. Morton and Washington also could be factors.

Big 12 Conference tournament

When: Doubles tournament begins at 2 p.m. Friday. Singles tournament starts at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Where: Doubles — Glen Oak Park, Bradley University Markin Tennis Complex, and Lower Bradley Park. Singles — Glen Oak Park, Bradley University Markin Tennis Complex, Lower Bradley Park, Richwoods High School, Peoria Country Club and Mt. Hawley Country Club.

Defending team champion: Normal Community

Returning individual champions: Singles — Jared Thomas (Champaign Centennial), Parker Honegger (Normal Community), Shanku Nair (Normal Community), Nachiketh Rotte (Normal Community). Doubles — Nair (NC), Rotte (NC), Honnegger (NC).

Team favorite: Normal Community.

Outlook: Normal Community won five of six singles titles and all three doubles championships last season. This year NC, Urbana and Bloomington all have two No. 1 seeds in singles. But the Ironmen also have three No. 2 seeds in singles and two No. 1 seeds and a No. 2 seed in doubles.
