Postseason begins tonight

East Peoria's boys basketball winning streak continued Friday.

Victory No. 4 easily was the most impressive.

On their Senior Night at Allison Gymnasium, the Raiders defeated five-time defending Mid-Illini Conference champion Washington, 50-46.

It was the first East Peoria (13-11, 9-5) win over the Panthers since a 68-57 road decision Dec. 20, 2002.

Besides breaking through against Washington (19-7, 10-4), the win also gave Raider head coach Ron Kelch his highest league win total in his six-year tenure.

"I thought the kids played hard and came out with a purpose," Kelch said.

East Peoria was led by Joe Kelch's 12 points. Dylan Sparkman and Alex Cline combined for 20.

Ben Ryan topped the Panthers with a game-high 18 points.

The Raiders finished third alone in the M-I, one game ahead of Canton.

East Peoria featured an all-senior starting line-up of Shane Moses, Cole Terry, Cole Nieukirk, T.J. Trau and Cline.
