For the third time, Illinois Central College will host the country’s 12 best women’s basketball teams March 17-20.

At Lorene Ramsey Gymnasium in East Peoria, ICC will welcome the qualifiers for the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Division II national tournament.

Pairings for the tournament will be finalized this week. The bracket will be available online at www.icc.edu/njcaatournament.

Daily admission is $10 or $5 for students and seniors. Students include anyone with a valid high school or college ID and/or ages 7 and older. Senior admission is for ages 65 and older.

A tournament pass, good for admission to all games, is $30 ($15 for students and seniors). Admission is free for ages 6 and younger.

All tournament games also can be viewed on the Web at www.icc.edu/njcaatournament by going to the “watch games” link.

Along with the games, the tournament is conducting a “Hoops for Haiti” charity event.

At the conclusion of each game, a representative from the winning team will have the opportunity to shoot a free throw for “Hoops for Haiti,” sponsored by Azura.

Azura will donate $100 to Friends of the Children of Haiti for each made foul shot.

The “Hoops for Haiti” event also will offer tournament-goers a chance to donate items at the door March 18.

ICC won a second three-year bid, which will extend its national basketball tournament hosting privileges through 2013.
