Webster Police have found human remains inside the home of the man they say shot four firefighters in Webster on Monday. Police believe the remains are that of the shooter's sister.

Webster Police have found human remains inside the home of the man they say shot four firefighters in Webster, NY, on Monday. Police believe the remains are that of the shooter's sister.


At a news conference Tuesday afternoon, Webster Police say they found human remains at 191 Lake Road, which is the home of William Spengler, the man police say shot four firefighters Monday in an ambushed attack. Those remains have been taken to the Medical Examiner's Office to be identified. Police believe the remains are that of Spengler's sister, Cheryl, who has been missing since the shooting on Monday.


Police say William Spengler was "equipped to go to war and kill innocent people."  They say they may never really know what his motive was.


Police are working on trying to find out where Spengler got his weapons and ammunition .


At an earlier news conference, Webster Police released information about a note that was left behind by Spengler.
