Arthur Russell “Russ” Endicott, 91, of Pekin, passed away at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Reflections Memory Care in Pekin.
Born Nov. 9, 1925, in Eldorado to Frank and Tina Utley Endicott. He married Marion Johanna Schlobohm Oct. 4, 1946, in Pekin. She died Feb. 18, 2013, in Morton.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ernie Endicott, Lawrence Endicott and Robert Endicott; and one sister, Una Rice.
Surviving are two daughters, Chris (Rich) Allen of Bartonville and Brenda Kucavik of East Peoria; one son, David Endicott of Quincy; three grandchildren, Scott Allen and Tina (Craig) Ori, both of Bartonville and Brandon Stone of Pekin; and five great-grandchildren, Kevin, Courtlan, Zachary, Bailee and Lucas.
A United States Army veteran of World War II, he served from Oct. 22, 1946 to Oct. 21, 1949. He attained the rank of Corporal.
Russell worked at Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville for 30 years, retiring Jan. 1, 1990, as a motor room operator. He was a member of the Keystone Retirees Club and had attended Second Reformed Church in Pekin.
His graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 10, at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin, where military rites will be accorded by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. Following the graveside service, family and friends are invited to a gathering celebrating Russell’s life at 2 p.m. Friday at the Pekin Estates Community Room, 1540 El Camino Drive, Pekin.
