1939 - 2017

Bill M. Sturch, 77, of Delavan, passed away at 8:37 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017, in Gulf Shores, Ala.

He was born June 23, 1939, in Bradford, Ark., to Kenneth C. and Mary Turner Sturch. He married Shirley G. Kemper June 24, 1960, in Pekin, and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Jeff Sturch of Creve Coeur and Brian (Kari) Sturch of Groveland; two daughters, Lori (Jack) Danley of Hanna City and Stacey (Jim) Stauffer of Boonsboro, Md.; 10 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Sarah) Kern, Tamie Kern, Lindsey Danley, Zachary Stauffer, Jacob Stauffer, Daniel Stauffer, Lucas Stauffer, Kalie Sturch, Brock Sturch and Eryn Sturch; two great-grandchildren James Lambert and Alice Kern; one brother, Kenneth “Gene” (Linda) Sturch of Delavan; two sisters, Joyce Bolliger of Morton and Betty (Wayne) Hendricks of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bill served in the United States National Guard.

He enjoyed working part time as a gardener at the Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin. He also enjoyed model railroading, gardening, and was a military history enthusiast; but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.
