A rural Pekin man was reported in good condition at a Peoria hospital Friday, two days after a single-vehicle accident that reportedly stopped his breathing.

Two Tazewell County sheriff’s deputies applied CPR to revive Jackie Creech, 54, at the accident site in the 13000 South block of Illinois Route 29 on Wednesday.

“CPR brought him back,” said Chief Deputy Jeff Lower.

Creech, of 14320 S. 14th St., was driving south at about 5 p.m. when his vehicle left the roadway and rolled over at least once, Lower said. No one else was involved in the crash.

Creech was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to OSF Healthcare St. Francis Medical Center.

He was cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Further details were not available Friday.
