Beverly Marie Puckett, 79, of Bloomington, formerly of Washington, Ill., passed away at 1:05 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018, at Heritage Health in Normal.
Beverly was born on Jan. 15, 1939, in Bloomington, a daughter to Clifford W. Short and Margratha D. Winkelman. She married Robert E. Puckett on Sept. 11, 1956, in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 2004.
Surviving are three sisters, Marilyn Gore, Judy Brady and Donna Fojtik, all of Bloomington; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Beverly was born and raised in Bloomington and later moved to Washington, Ill., with her husband. She loved all her angels of her church family at Roland Manor Baptist Church in Washington. She loved hard work and never would sit still. Beverly enjoyed teaching bible school, cooking, planting flowers and taking care of her yard.
The family would like to thank all who helped provide loving care by OSF Hospice and Heritage Health, and all her friends at the church that helped her out when needed.
Beverly was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Bev’s favorite Bible Verse that she lived by was Corinthians 13:13: "No abideth Faith Hope and Love. But the greatest of these is love."
Her funeral service was at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington with Rev. Steve Hardin officiating. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, both at the memorial home.
