The Illinois Department of Transportation announced in a Friday news release that traffic patterns in the U.S. 24/U.S. 150/Illinois 116 work zone will change Aug. 13.
Eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane while westbound traffic remains one lane.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. When feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered to avoid the work zone. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
