PEORIA — An armed bandit took about $90 from a Central Peoria Jimmy John's restaurant late Sunday night.
According to a report at the Peoria Police Department, the robbery occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the restaurant which is located at 3720 N. Prospect Road.
Employees told police the man had come into the store earlier, looked over the menu and was going to call his girlfriend to confirm what she wanted. The man came back, acted like he was going to place an order, but instead pulled out a handgun and demanded money, the report said. The thief asked for $1 and $5 bills and then asked the clerk to take the till out of the register drawer to make sure nothing was underneath. Then he left the business, the report said.
No one was injured and police have made no arrests.
