PEORIA - Forty-four new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the Tri-County Area on Wednesday, for a total of 1,191 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.


The Peoria County Health Department reported 33 more cases, for a to-date total of 884. Of those cases 15 are hospitalized, 200 are at home in isolation, 639 have recovered and 30 people have died. Peoria County is reporting a positivity rate of 3.13%


The Tazewell County Health Department reported nine more cases, for a to-date total of 239. Of those five are hospitalized, 55 are at home in isolation, 171 have recovered, and eight have died. According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, Tazewell County had 1.5% positivity rate for the week of July 5 through July 11.


The Woodford County Health Department reported two new cases, for a to-date total of 68. Of those one is hospitalized, 12 are at home in isolation, 52 have recovered, and three have died. Woodford County is reporting a 2.12% positivity rate.


Six COVID-19 patients are in area intensive care units, five fewer than yesterday. The number of patients in non-ICU beds rose by one since yesterday, to 23.
