TREMONT — LeRoy edged Tremont 28-22 in a Heart of Illinois-Small Conference game that went four overtimes on Friday.
The Panthers (2-2, 2-0) broke a scoreless tie in the third quarter when Aidan Eddy had a 2-yard rushing touchdown to give his team an 8-0 lead.
Nate Nguyen had a 21-yard rushing touchdown with 6:56 left in the fourth quarter to help the Turks (1-3, 0-2) tie the game at 8-8.
Caiden Buster put Tremont ahead 16-8 in the first overtime with a 4-yard rushing score, but LeRoy responded on its next possession when Jakob Sexton connected with Eddy for a 10-yard touchdown to make it 16-16.
Both team failed to score in the second overtime, which pushed the game into a third overtime. Sexton had a 1-yard rushing touchdown to put LeRoy ahead 22-16.
Buster answered right back for Tremont as he scored from 1-yard out to tie the game at 22-22 in the third overtime. But LeRoy ended the game in the fourth overtime as Sexton once again found the end zone from the goal line as the Panthers grabbed a 28-22 win.
