Outlook: Washington enters top ranked and the three-time defending state champs. The Panthers earned six medals last weekend and are led by two-time state champ Jace Punke (45-1 at 195) and one-timer Joey Cape (46-3 at 120), as well as runners-up Jared Head (160), Zeke Hulet (132) and Brody Norman (126). Sycamore, the Rochelle Regional champ, had three state qualifiers. Trevor Boryla (41-10) placed fifth at 120. Winner faces the winner of No 6 Oak Forest (20-6) and No. 5 Lemont (20-6).
Pairing: No. 14 Tremont (26-4) vs. Macomb (16-10).
Outlook: Tremont, which won the Mackinaw Regional and had 11 sectional qualifiers, is looking for its first trip to the dual-team finals. The Turks are led by state qualifier Caiden Buster (38-6 at 182). Macomb is after its second state berth, having reached the quarterfinals in 2008 (losing to runner-up Stillman Valley). The Bombers won their own regional, had 13 sectional qualifiers and are led by state qualifiers Hunter Protsman (126), Chris Medina (eighth at 180) and Jesiah Bradshaw (195). The winner faces the winner of No. 7 Orion (17-3) and No. 2 Lena-Winslow (28-1).
