Some of the elite sports executives in central Illinois are women, a fact that gets far too little attention, and one which Bradley University will try to correct on Feb. 28.

BU will launch its inaugural Women In Sports Networking Night prior to the BU women's hoops game against Valparaiso that night at Renaissance Coliseum.

The game is at 7 p.m. But the event opens at 5 p.m. with registration and networking opportunities in the Zobrist Room at Renaissance.

The panel will speak at 6 p.m., moderated by BU assistant professor of sports communication Dr. Dunja Antunovic.

Among the speakers are Peoria Rivermen assistant general manager Katie Pogeman, Peoria Chiefs director of ticket sales Kate Voss, ICC director of athletics and physical education Sue Sinclair and BU senior associate athletic director for academics and student development Jen Jones.

Having worked directly with Voss and Pogeman, and knowing Sinclair and Jones from a Hall of Fame board we sit on, I can tell you that's a powerhouse group and well worth the listen.

Go. Meet them. Listen. Benefit.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students or educators (must present a .edu email address) and includes the networking event, the panel discussion and ticket to the game.
