TidalHealth and the Wicomico County Health Department are partnering to expand COVID-19 drive-thru testing.

Starting Nov. 17, testing will be available on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon at the health department's Fritz Building on West Carroll Street. No doctor's referral is needed, but an appointment is required.

“Expanded testing was identified as a need in our community, which has resulted in this partnership,” said Lori Brewster, Health Officer for Wicomico and Somerset counties.

Testing on Wednesdays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. will also continue at the Fritz Building. Appointments can be made by calling 410-912-6889.

TidalHealth is encouraging people to take advantage of this service to ensure the emergency department continues to be used for emergencies only.

“We know community testing is critical to reducing transmission for COVID. TidalHealth is committed to supporting our public health partners through programs like this to increase access to community-based testing. It takes a community, working together, to beat this pandemic,” said Kathryn Fiddler, TidalHealth vice president of population health.
