Obituary: Marguerite Eller, 94, of East Peoria
EAST PEORIA — Marguerite P. Eller, 94, of East Peoria passed away at 4:55 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Snyder village.
Marguerite was born in Carlinville on Dec. 12, 1919, the daughter of James Leslie and Carrie Mae Fones Karrick. She married Joseph Eller on Dec. 14, 1934. He preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 1991.
She is survived by two daughters, Velma Hadley and Sandra (Dennis) Christiansen both of East Peoria; one son, Richard (Barbara) of Morton; one daughter-in-law, Peggy Eller of Mendota; eight grandchildren, David Eller, Nathan (Terri) Eller, Christopher (Jennifer) Eller, John (Theresa) Bernius, Scott (Cathy) Dozier, Joe (Jane) Dozier, Penny (Patrick) Phillip, and Jeff (Kris) Christiansen; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Marguerite was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Barry; two brothers; two sisters; and two grandchildren.
Marguerite enjoyed Bingo, knitting and crocheting and was an avid fisherman. Joseph and Marguerite loved spending the summers in their cabin in Wisconsin and spending winters in Florida.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at Remmert Funeral Home. A private funeral service will be Friday, Feb. 28. The Rev. David Swain will officiate.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
