Eureka College to conduct winter baseball camp Dec. 27-29

The Eureka College baseball coaching staff will hold a baseball camp Dec. 27-29.

The morning session is from 10 a.m. to noon and is open to campers in third through seventh grades.

Players will receive instruction on the basic fundamentals of hitting from the camp staff.

The main focus will be on grip, stance, proper load, balance and weight transfer throughout the swing.

Stations will be set up to reinforce these fundamentals. Players will participate in a hitting talk, stations and competitive games.

The afternoon session will follow from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and is open to campers in eighth through 12th grades.

Players will receive instruction on the fundamentals of hitting from the coaching staff and players.

In addition to working on stance, proper load and weight transfer, players will work more in depth with the swing path, overall swing mechanics, as well as approach and the mental side of hitting.

Stations will be set up to reinforce these fundamentals. Players will participate in a comprehensive hitting talk, stations and competitive games.

The cost for both sessions is $75 per camper and will include a camp T-shirt.

Registration forms should be returned by Dec. 18. If there is room, walk-up and late registration will be accepted.

Registration for the morning session will take place from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. and registration for the afternoon session will run from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Parents are welcome to observe while the camp is taking place.
